This week I have been primarily focusing on the rear axle of the shopping cart and actually designing and just in general figuring out how I plan on constructing the rear axle. I decided to use these freewheeling hubs that are on the rear wheels of bicycles which allow them to freewheel when spinning backward but powered when spinning forward. I found the design used on a tricycle on YouTube and if it doesn't work as a solution to my differential issue I will have a drift cart. I also with help, attached the bike I finally got from Mr. Jackson the metal fab teacher. I used hose clamps for a temporary way to test my steering method. One person pushed the back while going straight and I steered using the bike handles.
