This week was a pretty good week back. There isn't anything else that needs to be done on the shopping cart so I'm kind of just making things for cosmetics. This week I decided to focus on making a rear wing. Traditionally a wing would be used to create downforce in the rear of a car but this wing doesn't need to produce any downforce because a majority of the weight distribution is in the back of the cart. The wing is mostly there to look cool. I designed my first one but it didn't save on fusion so I had to remodel it but once I did I cut it out of cardboard and taped it together on to the cart.

After putting it on the cart something felt off about it though. To me it just felt really boring and it didn't feel right with how the design initially looked. I liked the truss design on the supports but the size of the wing and the actual wing itself felt really dull to me and it didn't seem right.

I decided to completely redesign the wing after taking some feed back. I wanted the wing to be taller and a bit sharper on the angles as opposed to having soft and rounded corners. Having the wing be so low felt like it was being completely blocked by the chair and it didn't stick out enough to catch your attention.

The redesign I went with increased the height of the wing by around a whole foot, luckily the rest of the sizing of the wing was actually perfect. The supports were the perfect distance apart to be mounted onto the cart. Once I get the cardboard version of this wing mocked up and attached onto the cart I'll know how I feel about the wing as a whole and next week I might actually make the wing and get it mounted on.
