Last week I did not write a blog post because unfortuantely I was out sick. So to sum up last week I was just doing a lot of testing with the LED pads and the motor trying to calibrate it. I have put most of my effort towards trying to calibrate the motor. The problem was that when I used the big 70 watt LED pads it was too dim when it flashed at 500 micro seconds. And when I flashed it at a faster rate it was much brighter. The problem was that I couldn't syncronize the motor speed to match the flash rate to get an animation without trails. So I tested and tested different flash rates and motor speeds but I wasn't successful. Then Mr. Christy gave me a new LED panel to use which drew 30 volts.
Due to this LED panel drawing so many more volts than the other LED pads it required a driver which would supply more power as well. So I got a driver from Mr. Christy which would output 40 volts. However I was using the driver to also supply power to my motor driver and the motor could only take 12 volts. So the motor driver burnt out and I had to resolder a new motor driver. Last week I also burnt out my mosfet and I had to resolder a new one.
The rest of this week was just testing the panel and doing more of what I did last week.
Next week I plan to try and figure out the motor speed so I can actually properly calibrate the motor and not just by trial and error.
