This week was a short week in terms of time I spent in shop. We had Monday off then a half day on Wednesday and gym on Thursday. But I did manage to get some work done. After I finished my model I had to think about how I would go on to mount the brakes on to the shopping cart. The brakes need to rest on the brake disc but obviously can not be attached to the disc so I had to keep them suspended somehow. I took some measurements of the breaks so I could get a rough model made.
I was using this for reference and managed to make a fairly accurate model of the brakes. But then I had to think about how I would actually mount it to the cart and I realized that the brakes had mounting screw holes on the other side exactly where the square steel tubes would be so I made a little plate that would be bent for the brakes to be screwed on to.
Modeling it took a bit more time than expected because there was many small and seemingly unimportant measurements I had to get in order for the screw holes to actually be accurate to real life. I will need to laser cut a piece of cardboard from the mounting plate to see if it fits.
